Garnishments require employers and banks to pay money over to you. If you know where the debtor banks or works, a garnishment may be what you need to collect the money owed to you.
What's needed to garnish? The judgment must be from a Washington Court and the employer or bank must be located in Washington. If the judgment is from a different state, there is a procedure to transfer it to Washington.
Why doesn't he/she just pay me? Statistics show that if you haven't been paid in 30 days, you will need to take further legal action to collect your money.
Should I act today? Yes, the longer you wait, the greater chance your judgment will be wiped out completely in a bankruptcy.
How much will it cost? Only $39 gets the process started. Your costs of garnishment plus up to $250 of attorney fees will be added the judgment balance.
Can you collect restitution? Yes, restitution is treated the same as a judgment.
How do you determine your fees? From start to finish, garnishments take about 4 hours. We charge less than $82 per hour for these services, compared to our normal hourly rate of $200 per hour. To make it simple for you, we charge a flat rate of only $325 per garnishment.
Should I hire a local attorney? Garnishments are done by mail. There is no advantage to hiring an attorney in your hometown.
How do I get started? Complete the steps listed on the garnishment page. If you have questions, you can reach us at 360-791-9002. We are looking forward to hearing from you. You can also contact us at our e-mail address: attorney@washingtongarnishments.com.
Are you for real? It's always good to be cautious over the internet. That's why I've set my advance fee at only $39. You can view my attorney listing at the state bar association (www.wsba.org).
